Couples Photography in Melbourne

Relaxed, unforced photos of you two, properly together.

Life with your person is jam packed. Between work, weekends that vanish, and the general noise of everyday life, it’s easy to forget to pause long enough to actually mark this season. Maybe you’ve just gotten engaged. Maybe it’s an anniversary. Or maybe you want to press pause and capture what this looks like, right now. And also, you don’t need a reason.

Sometimes you just want a few really good photos of you two, the way you actually are together. Relaxed, unforced, and properly together.

That’s where I come in.

I offer relaxed couple photography sessions for people who want images that feel natural and real. No awkward posing, no pressure to perform, and no need to show up with a “perfect” version of yourselves. You just come as you are, and I’ll gently guide you with simple prompts so it feels easy, comfortable, and genuinely you.

FAQ

Aren’t couple photos mostly for engagements or weddings?

Not at all. Engagements and weddings are one reason to book, but they’re not the reason.

A couples session is for anyone who wants a few honest, unforced photos together, in this season of life. Maybe you’ve been together two years, maybe ten. Maybe life’s busy and you realised you don’t have a single photo that feels like you.

You don’t need a ring, a venue, or a reason. Just the two of you, properly together.

Should I do an in-home or outdoor couple session?

Either, and there’s no “right” choice.

If you want cosy, calm, and very you, an in-home session is perfect. It’s relaxed and personal - cooking in the kitchen, reading a book on the couch, dancing in your garden. The options are endless and can be so personal!

If you want movement, space, and that warm outdoor light, we’ll go outside. Think walking, leaning in, laughing, and letting things unfold naturally, without needing to “perform”.

If you tell me the vibe you’re after (cosy, playful, quiet, golden, beachy, city), I’ll help you choose what fits.

What time of day is best?

If we’re outdoors, we’ll usually aim for the softer light later in the day.

For in-home sessions, we’ll choose a time that works with your home’s natural light and your kids’ rhythm.

I’ll help you land on a time that sets you up well without making life harder.

Do you photoshop your images?

In short, no, I don't.

I want your photos to be a timeless reflection of you and your family right at this moment. My editing style keeps the images natural with light enhancements.

Murphy's Law - you've woken up the morning of your session and have a blemish on your cheek. Don't worry, I've got your back. My rule of thumb is that if it's not here to stay, I'll do my best to make it go away.

When will I receive my online gallery?

You’ll receive your gallery of beautifully edited images within 2-3 weeks. I know how excited you’ll be to see them, so I always aim to get them to you as quickly as possible – while still ensuring every photo is picture perfect!

We’re awkward in photos. Can you help?

So normal. Most people feel a bit stiff for the first five minutes. I’ll give you simple prompts (nothing cheesy) so you’re not left standing there wondering what your face is doing.

What can we expect from a couples photoshoot with you?

Expect it to feel relaxed and low pressure.

I’ll guide you with simple prompts so you’re not left guessing what to do, and so it never feels stiff or overly posed. You don’t need to practise anything or show up as a “perfect” version of yourselves. You just come as you are, and I’ll take care of the rest.

And if you do feel a little unsure at the very start, that’s completely normal. I’ll ease you in gently, keep things moving, and it settles quickly.

Do you photograph proposals in Melbourne?

Yes.

If you want something simple and intimate, I can keep a low profile and capture it as it happens, then we’ll take a few relaxed photos afterwards while it all sinks in.

And if you’re planning something bigger (flowers, a setup, the whole moment), I’m in. We’ll just plan it well so it feels exciting on the day, not stressful.

Send me what you’re thinking (rough location, date, and whether it’s “quiet” or “go big”), and I’ll help you shape a plan that works with the light and keeps the surprise intact.

What should we wear?

Most importantly, wear something that you feel like yourself in. I also recommend wearing coordinated colours that complement each other. For maternity sessions, flowy dresses that highlight the baby bump are always a great choice.

Once you have booked, I will provide you with a style guide with more information to support you to prepare ensuring you show up to your session feeling comfortable and confident.

I am building out my client wardrobe and have some beautiful items that mum's may wish to access.

How many images will we receive?

As a minimum you will receive 10 images through the Keepsake Package. Of course, there are options to upgrade, allowing you to download additional images.

Do you offer printing?

Hell yes! As a photographer, I believe in the power of printed images to preserve memories and prioritise making print and framing affordable and accessible.

When you receive your private online gallery, you will also have access to my online print store that is connected to a professional print lab.
